This trail run was Tuesday 4/19/2011. The goal was just trying to get the mileage in before the 1/2 marathon!
The sun came out, and it was off to the trail for me and my dog! She use to be my training partner for 1/2 marathons, but she just can’t do the mileage any more… I think part of it is also the pavement hurts her.
She does love to run the trails. We use to run from our home to the trail and back. It’s about 2 miles on pavement to get to the trail head, so, now we drive.
We just learned how to do uphill and downhill with Chi running so, this trail would be a great place to practice. And it was!
We just did a short little section about 2 miles out, so a total of about 4 miles.
We met lots of great people walking their dogs! It was such a dog day. They were all having so much fun!
And, one of the things I love about this section of the trail, is the wild flowers. It’s so magical when you first see them!
Enjoy a few of the pic’s I took…
After this first patch, I found lots by the trail! It was just so incredible!
looking from the trail head towards the coast range…
This pic is amazing because it rains here 80% of the time, so it’s a bit of a challenge to see over the hills in the foreground! And today, Wow!
trail head map. we are at the button right corner.
Always good to figure out either where you are going, or where you have been. Especially fun to figure out where you really where when you thought you were some place else! 🙂
